After producing some phenomenal images of Roald Dahl for our first live #SketchOff of 2016, we decided to take it to the vote to find out what our followers on Twitter would like to try their hand at next. There was some debate, but in the end you chose cityscapes as the theme for our next #SketchOff and we busied ourselves finding an image to challenge our artistic followers.
At 7.30pm on Tuesday the 1st of March we revealed the image of London that we had chosen for our sketchers to get stuck into. With a variety of buildings and shapes and plenty of detail to work with, we knew it was a tricky image to tackle in 90 minutes, but we also hoped that the need for spontaneity would bring out the best in our sketchers. And judging by the fantastic submissions we received, we think that might possibly be true.
Take a look at a selection of some of the wonderful art we received below and don’t forget to keep an eye on the #MakeAStartInArt hashtag to find out when the next #SketchOff will take place. See you there!
*We have attempted to include as many submissions as possible in our gallery, but unfortunately we could not include everyone. All submissions have been considered for our competition prizes, and your art will have had every chance of winning even if you can’t spot your artwork in our gallery*
