Jane Means: How to Accessorise your Gifts with a Jingle Bell Bow Transcript
I’m Jane Means, gift wrapping expert for WHSmith. Once you’ve wrapped your present you want it to stand out and look incredible so here’s a great tip to do that. You may end up with some remnants of paper that you’re wrapping, so what I’ve done is cut an oblong of paper. And I’m also going to accessorise it with a jingle bell and some of this kraft paper ribbon.
The first thing I’m going to do is with my scrap of paper, get some double-sided tape, just a strip like that is absolutely fine, peel away the double-sided tape, you’re then going to fold the paper in half. I’m then going to concertina the paper all the way down. Quite small, about half a centimeter is perfect. I’ve pleated it all the way down to make it into a concertina , I’m now going to fold it in half.
I’ve got a jingle bell. With the bell I’m actually going to cut off the ribbon just so it leaves me with a single bell. I’m then going to use my paper ribbon, and what I’m going to do is go around the box that I’ve previously wrapped, and I need just enough to tie a knot. So I’m going to give it a tie, and then I’m going to tie in my pleated piece of paper. I’m pulling the fan out to reveal it, and then I’m going to add on my jingle bell. And then to finish off I’m just going to tie in the bell. I’m then going to cut these ends very short. And there is your gift with a fan decoration.
