And so as we celebrate our 225th anniversary throughout 2017, we’re looking back on the books that have stood out, changed perspectives and stayed with their readers long after the last page. To join in with the conversation online, we want you to tell us your favourite book written in the last 225 years and why. It could be the book that ignited your love of crime and mysteries, or the book that first made you believe in magic. Maybe it’s the book that inspires you to be brave or adventurous or hopeful. Or perhaps it’s simply that worn-out book that has been on your bookshelf longer than you care to remember and that you take down to read time after time.
Whatever the reason might be, we want you to head over to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tell us your favourite book of the last 225 years using the tag #WHS225Books to share your favourite fiction book and tag #WHS225KidsBooks to tell us your favourite children’s book. It doesn’t necessarily have to be highbrow, or a classic, or have changed the world, as long as it changed your world. We can’t wait to see what you pick!
