Once again securing a fantastic line-up, music acts this year include Fatboy Slim, Jamie Cullum and Kelis, whilst Rachel Khoo, Nathan Outlaw and Jamie Oliver himself will be giving cooking demos in the Big Kitchen. Not just about the great music and food, there will also be arts and crafts workshops, games, cookery classes, local produce for sell, Q and A sessions and even a vintage funfair!
One of our very own- Kyle from the web team- attended last year’s event with his family, and had this to say about it:
“The Feastival was really focused on families – what this meant was that a large portion of the festival area was utterly dedicated to making sure your kids didn’t drive you insane while you tried to eat as much cheese as humanly possible. Highlights of the kids area included a fairground, a large tent full of activities including a milkable fake cow (no, really), a tent dedicated to blowing bubbles, and an animal petting tent, which my little one loved, though we had to make sure he didn’t go all ‘Mice and Men’ on any of them. Thankfully, he took an extended nap during the day, which enabled me and my other half to perform outrageously adult activities such as sitting down (!) having a rest (!!) and even drinking half a small plastic glass of wine (!!!). It was an amazing day. I got to eat my weight in cheese, the sun was out, and my family were happy (apart from one grumpy hour that was quickly resolved with chips).”
The weather forecast for this weekend is promising some sunshine and temperatures around 18-20 degrees (for now!) so we’re certainly expecting this summer festival to live up to the high standards of last year. Get the wellies out, slap on the sun cream, save plenty of room for nibbles throughout the day, and enjoy one of the best family days out this summer.
Send us your photos, comments and reviews from the day on Facebook, Twitter or here- we’d love to hear about your family’s day out!
