Create and Draw a Brand New David Walliams Character!
For our first ever kids’ sketch off, we’re celebrating the announcement of David Walliams’ new book out in May by asking young sketchers to draw a new character that they’d like to see in a David Walliams’ book. We’ve already had a gangsta granny, a demon dentist, an awful auntie, a slightly annoying elephant and many more hilarious creations; now we want you to draw a fun character that could exist in a David Walliams book (take a look at our Top 10 David Walliams Characters list if you need a little inspiration).
You have until midnight on Monday 17th April 2017 (Easter Monday) for a parent or guardian to upload a picture of your art on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #SketchOffKids and #MakeAStartInArt.
We’ll be picking our favourite to win a copy of David Walliams’ The World’s Worst Children signed by David Walliams himself, plus a bundle of fun art goodies from our Let’s Create range! Two runners-up will also receive a set of colouring pencils, colouring pens and a drawing pad from our Let’s Create range.
The competition is open to under 11’s only and we’ll be picking our winners based on the ones that are our favourites, so kids of all ages and abilities have a chance of winning.
Don’t forget to check out the full terms and conditions below before getting started. Good luck and have fun!
Please note that this competition has not been endorsed, sponsored or administered by David Walliams or Harper Collins.
This is fun, so be nice. People who aren’t nice will be blocked.
Winners are picked at the discretion of WHSmith. Negativity directed towards the winners or any other participants will not be tolerated.
All children under 11 are welcome to take part, regardless of ability or experience.
Entries will be presented in a gallery blog post after the event. Although we will use as many as we can, we cannot guarantee that all submissions will be displayed in the final gallery. This will not influence your chances of winning a prize.
