The final review title of the Richard and Judy Book Club Autumn 2016 is The Ballroom by Anna Hope. A compelling story set in an asylum in the Yorkshire moors, The Ballroom shows that love can flourish even during the hardest of times. Richard and Judy caught up with Anna Hope to ask her about everything from her research process and writing routine to what life would have been like in an asylum. They also discuss one of the novel’s main themes, Eugenics, during the end of the Edwardian era and the love story between its two protagonists, Ella and John.
Have a listen to the podcast below to hear a reading from The Ballroom by Anna Hope herself and find out more about the inspiration behind it.
