  1. That would be the perfect gift for my best friend’s 11 year old daughter who I a die hard Harry Potter fan.

  2. Harry Potter brought me great escape as a young child struggling with undiagnosed Autism and illness. Now, that I am diagnosed and still ill, I love escaping into a book. Harry Potter’s one of them, and I can’t wait to see the next works by J.K Rowling. 😀
I want to be a writer myself! Maybe one day, it’ll be one of my works being the prize for a competition. 😛

  3. AAAHHHHH. I cannot wait to see who the three winners are. It would mean soooo much to me to win this. The book would be like a Jewel on my bookshelf and it would be so precious to me. The wizarding world never fails to impress and entertain and I love fangirling about everything Harry Potter. I’ve grown up with Harry Potter. This is so exciting!!

  4. i have bought 2 copies already and would so love a signed copy- i bought the first harry potter book before it became famous for my son when i spotted it in whsmith, thought it looked amazing and we were both hooked. my other 2 children have also grown up with the books and all love them. i also still have the first 2 books on the original cassettes – we went on car holidays with them so listening to the stories was a real family affair and made long car journies exciting and enjoyable. my son just got engaged to his harry potter mad girlfriend and hid the ring inside a hollowed out book , resting on the chapter – the unbreakable vow!! – i can see a potter wedding coming up and this signed copy would make the best wedding present for them both

  5. Hello, I pre-ordered a copy from the local WH Smith shop, (not online). I collected the book first thing on Sun morning, and it was only then that they gave me the competition card. As I am 91 my daughter has used the card to enter the competition online for me, but it says that the entry has to be made by midnight on 30th July, but they didn’t give out the card until 31st July. Does that mean that my entry is not valid? I hope not. I have read all the previous books and seen all the films. I have queued up outside bookshops at midnight for the first copies and have dressed up and enjoyed it. I really was looking forward to reading the new book and turned up at the branch of Smith’s to queue this time, wearing what I , and other people call my Harry Potter Hat and a blouse that I sewed Harry Potter symbols onto. Despite my age I have enjoyed all the Harry Potter books and still do. I think there is something in them for all ages, they speak to everyone.

    1. I am doing mine on the 2nd of August. I think that it means that ALL entries will be seen if entered before 30th of July, however, they cannot guarantee that everyone get theirs entered if it is after the 30th.

  6. Ok I’ve purchased the book today and picked up from store the leaflet to enter this competition but on reading the entry confirmation entry is pointless as closing was midnight before 30th July! Not happy!

  7. Only got the competition card today 2nd August, they didn’t have them last week , so no chance of entering before 31st July. Dissapointed.

  8. I also got card when collecting my book, my store was one of those not entering those that pre-ordered into the competition, am so disappointed not to be able to enter why wasn’t the cards given to people when they pre-ordered the books or put out earlier giving everyone a chance of winning .

  9. i pre ordered collected my book was given the card but the competition
    has already closed nnooooo

  10. Picked up the leaflet while on hoilday begging of August WHY were they still on the shelf,if competition had ended?

  11. Pretty unfair really – I doubt whether JK Rowling would be impressed by a competition which we couldn’t win because either branches were not entering preorders or not giving out “win a signed copy” cards until AFTER the closing date. I’m gutted – would love to have won a signed copy for my daughter.

  12. Hi all,

Please accept our apologies for the confusion regarding this competition. We have now launched a second competition that will give you a chance to win a signed copy of The Cursed Child. Full details and terms and conditions are featured above.

Wishing all those that enter the best of luck,

  13. Hello 🙂
I’m living in Switzerland but I’m staying in England for summer school. I’m staying with a host family. May I enter or not? Because I’m a UK resident now ?

  14. Enterious fictionous – which allows people to enter any book or film of their choosing. So I could join the world of Harry Potter!

  15. Bookus Amnesius, so that you can forget the Harry potter book you have just read, and enjoy reading it for the first time all over again

  16. My spell would be Curare Herba, and the incantation would be Curaherba. It would be to heal plants, as mine always wilt!
