As of February 2015, Social Blade estimates that the highest earning gaming contributor to YouTube is games reviewer “PewDiePie” AKA Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (SWE).
He enjoys annual earning of $1.2m-$18.9m (£777,800-£12.2m) a mean average of $10.05m (£6.51m).
As of 3 May 2015 he had more than 8.6 billion views and 36,376,634 subscribers – the most subscribers on Youtube.
Most Bangles put on in 30 Seconds by a Team of Two – Alfie Deyes & Marcus Butler (2013)
In 2013, Alfie Deyes held a number of world records from being a member of the “Guinness World Records OMG!” channel.
He once held the record for “most bangles put on in 30 seconds by a team of two” with fellow Youtube Marcus Butler. Their record was beaten in 2014.
Alfie also set the record for “most party poppers popped in 30 seconds” with a count of 29. His record was beaten by Ashrita Furman in October 2013.
Most “Liked” Video Online – Gangnam Style by Psy
2012 smash hit ‘Gangnam Style’ by South Korean pop/rap star Psy has been liked 9,371,381 times on Youtube as of 3 May 2015. It also had 1,256,756 dislikes.
The video surpassed Justin Bieber’s music video for ‘Baby’ and became the first Youtube video to reach one billion views in December 2012.
By the end of 2012, the song had topped the music charts of more than 30 countries including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and the UK.
Most Consecutive Daily Personal Video Blogs Posted
As of 7 May 2015, Charles Trippy (USA) had posted 2,200 vlogs, without missing a day, on his YouTube channel Internet Killed Television.
The vlogs average around ten minutes long and follow daily events in the cast’s lives, including illness, marriage and divorce.
The series was only intended to last one year but has now been running for six years.
Most Viewed Music Video Online (Female Artist)
As of 3 May 2015, the music video for ‘Dark Horse’ by Katy Perry and American rapper Juicy J has been viewed on Youtube 931,194,248 times. The video was first released on 20 Feb 2014.
Katy Perry also boasts the second-most-watched music video by a female artist: “Roar” with 902,750,117 views as of 3 May 2015.
Most Selfies Taken in One Hour – Mark E. Miller & Ethan Hethcote
Vloggers Mark E. Miller and Ethan Hethcote attempted the record as part of the #missionsmile campaign and achieved 355 selfies.
In order to set the record they had to have a different person appear with them in each selfie. The couple approached strangers on a beach in Miami asking them to take selfies with them in order to reach their target.
NBC sports have since beaten the record, achieving 1,449 selfies in an hour.
Most Watched Gaming Video on Youtube
As of 20 March 2015 ‘Revenge – A Minecraft Parody of Usher’s DJ Got us Fallin’ in Love…’ had been viewed a staggering 156,076,698 times. ‘CaptainSparklez’ AKA Jordan Maron (USA) uploaded the parody on 19 August 2011.
The parody video features a miner who wants to get revenge on the creepers who attack him. Many Minecraft players sympathised with the character.
Most Popular Call of Duty Channel by Views & Subscribers – Ali-A
Full time Youtuber and vlogger Ali-A (Alistair Aiken) is hugely popular in the USA for his channel dedicated to the first-person shooter game Call of Duty.
As of 11 June 2015 Ali-A had amassed over 6,176,412 subscribers and 1,352,371,065 views to his channel, earning him two respective records; one for the most subscribers to a Call of Duty channel and one for the most views of a Call of Duty channel.
Most Viewed VEVO video in 24 hours – Nicki Minaj
On 19-20 August 2014 the music video for ‘Anaconda’ by Nicki Minaj was viewed 19.6 million times on VEVO.
It beat the old record for Miley Cyrus’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ which was viewed 19.3 million times on 9-10 September 2013.
Most Goals Scored Against FIFA Computer – KSI (2013)
Like Alfie Deyes and Marcus Butler, KSI also set a world record on the Guinness World Records OMG channel by scoring more goals than the FIFA computer.
In February 2013 KSIOlajidebt appeared on the video “KSI VS FIFA // The Record Slam” and scored 190 goals against the computer, earning him the world record.
