Twitter Q&A with Oli White Transcript

Hello everyone! I’m here today promoting my new book Generation Next. I asked you guys on Twitter to send in some questions, and this is what you asked.

Morgan @RoadTripsBabe asks “What made you come up with the storyline of Generation Next?”

Well Morgan! I’ve always been interested in the whole business type thing and a young group of friends building up a business. And I suppose it’s just really inspired me to do something myself and also write a bit about what’s happened to me as well. There’s lots of easter eggs within the book about my life, so you’re going to have to read it and work out what’s real, and what’s not.

So the next question is from Eli Ashby @EliAshby1 “What is your favourite quote from your book?”

Well it’s got to be on the front cover; ‘They started as ordinary friends, now they’re Generation Next’.

Amelia Anderson @amelia61990 she asks “Will there ever be a book 2?”

You’ll have to find out. You’ll have to wait and see.

Domi @LovingZoellla – we’ve got a Zoella fan in the building! – “What’s your all time favourite book?”

I loved Roald Dahl when I was younger, I’m just going to go with when I was a kid because they were my favourite books, probably Mr Fantastic Fox, that was a good book.

T•R•X•¥•E ‏@ellabb123 asks “Where is the place you can’t wait to go most on your book tour?”

There isn’t one particular place. There isn’t one particular place. I’m excited for the whole tour, it’s going to be such a mind-blowing, crazy experience, and I just can’t wait to meet all of you guys.

Josie Elin ‏@LostIwonderland asks “What was it like when you received the first ever copy of your book?”

Well, I only received the first copy yesterday, and I have to say it just looks amazing. It feels amazing, it’s got this nice feel to it. And it looks amazing as well. Very happy.

Andrei Rafael Carpio – I’m so bad with names! – ‏@andreicarpio asks “Which character in the book can you relate to the most?”

It has got to be the character Jack.

Louise ‏@Wildaboutconnor – not sure which Connor that is but ooh – “What was the hardest thing about writing Generation Next?”

I suppose, sort of coming up with the whole story and making it all fit together and making it interesting and adding elements of my life into it. That was a hard process. I’ve never worked on writing a book before with Terry and it was all a new process for me. But we got there in the end and I’m very happy with the outcome.

Ooh look at this! OliWhite Philippines! Yes! I know you! You’re a great account, I follow you as well! “Among the three characters, who is your favorite one and why?”

That’s so confusing! I mean there’s a lot more characters than just the three on the front cover, but I’m just going to have to say Jack because I could most relate to him.

Chanel ‏@canscakes asks “What is something that motivates you to get out of bed everyday?”

Wow, this is a hard one because I actually slept through two alarms this morning and I was a little bit late to come here, don’t tell anyone. So, what motivates me? I don’t know! I suppose I just get up and I’m like right, fresh start, new day, let’s create something good and let’s try and make at least one person laugh today.

Michelleeeeeeeee ‏@Mikzzi from Denmark, she asks – I’m so bad with names! Why have you got so complicated names? – she asks “What was the best part of writing your own book?”

I suppose just having total control over the whole thing and being able to say ‘yes let’s add this in, let’s do this, let’s write it this way, let’s do the cover like this’ just having that freedom, being able to make it my own, you know.

And there we are! Those are the questions so thank you guys ever so much for submitting them. If you want to go and buy Generation Next then you can go into WHSmith, you can order online or whatever, and hope you enjoy reading! Bye!
