  • Katie Harvey

I am really excited for this signing and for Sarah to be coming to the UK. I was wondering about the rules for this signing though. Is there tickets or is it a queue and hope situation? Also what’s the rules for bringing other books of Sarah’s?

    • Siobhan

I was wondering the same. If I could have it my way I would bring all 7 of her books I have to sign 🙂

      • Katie Harvey

I will be going from Chester so dont wanna take all of her books with me on the train if I wont get them signed :/ I would love to get them all signed but if not, I would like to know beforehand 🙂

        • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Katie and Sioban – great to hear you’re coming along to the signing. This is not a ticketed event, you just need to turn up. Sarah will be able to dedicate Empire of Storms and sign one additional book that you’ve brought with you. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • t a n i i a | xxiv

Hello! I am really excited about meeting Sarah J Maas! But I was wondering, will we be able to buy the Empire of Storms as a hardback or only paperback? Because I want to buy that series and I don’t whether to buy hardbacks or paperbacks. Thanks!

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Taniia – you’ll only be able to purchase Empire of Storms as a paperback at the event. Hope that helps, let us know if you have any further questions.

      • t a n i i a | xxiv

Yes I actually have another question. Unfortunately I might not make it there that day. I really wanted to meet Sarah but it won’t be possible. Is it any way I can buy a book and have someone ask her to sign it for me and reserve it at the store?

        • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Taniia – I’m afraid either you or someone on your behalf is required to attend the event in order to receive your signed copy. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Lily-Jo Brazill

Do we HAVE to have bought the book from WhSmiths or can we have bought it from somewhere else?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Lily-Jo – yes you must purchase the new Empire of Storms book from Sarah J Maas. Let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Faye

Hello, has the time of this changed from 10am to 4pm?

Also, I’ve just seen you’ve announced an extra chapter with the book from WHSmiths. I pre-ordered my copy weeks ago. I’m wondering if I’ll be receiving a standard copy or if I’ll receive one with the exclusive content?

    Thanks,
    Faye.

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Faye – yes the event is now at 4pm. I’m afraid you will have to place another order if you would like the edition with the extra chapter. Feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions.

      • Faye

Is there a reason it’s been changed from 10am until 4pm? It’s just me and my friend have booked a hotel which we now probably won’t need because if the information in this site. And is there no way, if I rang up, to switch the standard copy for the edition with the extra chapter? Pretty sure they’re the same price.

  • Gianna

Hello I would like to clarify something it said previously that you just have to turn up however when I asked in store and called up the office they said you needed tickets.

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Gianna – the event is not ticketed, you will simply need to join the queue to have your book signed by Sarah on a first come, first served basis. We recommend that you arrive at the event no more than an hour beforehand and no later than 4pm. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Jay

Will the signing start at 10am or 4pm because I go to school that day and I don’t know if I should miss that day

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Jay – the signing will start at 4pm. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Michelle

Hi there I’ve bought the hardback edition as all of her books are in hardback in my collection and I was going to bring the three books I don’t have signed.

If I bought a third copy of this book from your store would I still be allowed to get my books signed?? Given you won’t be selling he hardback editions

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Michelle – Sarah will only be able to dedicate Empire of Storms and sign one additional book. If you’d like to bring a hardback copy of Empire of Storms with you then you must have purchased it from WHSmith and be able to show the receipt. Thanks, WHS Blog.

      • Michelle

That’s not quite answered my question. I am happy to buy another copy of the book from your store if that is the only way to get my books signed. However you will not be selling the hardback edition. I have to get that straight from the publisher. Provided I have bought one of your copies which is essentially forcing me to buy a ticket for a non ticketed event can I have that and another of Sarah’s books signed instead of the book from your store?

        • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Michelle, the hardback copy will be available to purchase from WHSmith from 6th September. Thanks, WHSmith Blog.

  • Jay

I have a question, approximately how many people will be there (if you don’t know, how many usually are there) because I’d rather get there early instead of waiting in a extremely long line at the back! Thanks

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Jay – if you’d like to arrive early we advise that you get to the event no more than an hour before it starts to secure your place in the queue. Thanks, WHS Blog.

      • Jay

        Thank you

  • Hashim Butt

Hi, is there normally a delay in time of the book sighing or will it likely be on the dot at 16:00?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Hashim, our signings begin as close to the advertised start time as possible. Thanks, WHSmith Blog.

  • Lily-Jo Brazill

Is there an age barrier or is every one welcome (I’m 12), as my school is having a training day so my dad and I were thinking about taking the train from Leeds?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Lily-Jo, everyone is welcome, although anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (someone over 18). Thanks, WHSmith Blog.

  • ci

Hi I so wish to come but Im struggling as its so far away and would mean having to leave early from sixth form. Can we preorder for Sarah J maas to sign personally for us and then pick up at the earliest convenience? As well I had a piece of fan art for her and wondered even if I could not attend if you could pass it on to her during the signing?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Ciara, Sarah will be stock signing some books so we can put a copy aside for you to collect at a later date but you won’t be able to have it dedicated. If you let us know your full name then we can arrange for you to pick it up. I’m afraid she will only be able to sign Empire of Storms and not fan art. Thanks, WHSmith Blog.

      • ci

Hi thank you, and sorry i wasn’t very clear the fan art wasn’t for her to sign it was for her to keep and have herself . Would I be able to leave it with whsmiths to give to her just cause I was so hoping to give it to her in person but I can’t because of school and how far it is. Thank you very much for you help

  • Jen Smith

Hi, you have mentioned that in order to have a hardback signed you would have to purchase it from WHSmith. WHSmith however is not selling hardbacks of this book. Would I be able to buy a paperback of empire of storms from WHSmith but bring a hardback copy from somewhere else and have the hardback signed? I would be buying the book from you but getting a different edition signed alongside another additional book.

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Jen, the hardback edition will be available from WHSmith on 6 September so you will be able to purchase one to be signed at the event. Thanks WHSmith Blog.

      • hali

Hi, the hardback edition is still not available from WHSmith. Is there any update as to when I can buy that edition so it’s eligible to be signed at this event?

        • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Hali, the hardback is available in store. Thanks, WHS Blog.

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Jen, hardbacks are available in store but you can have one copy of Empire of Storms purchased from WHSmith signed by Sarah and one you’ve brought from home stamped. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Daniel Payne

Will the hardback edition of Empire of Storms be available to pre-order from WHSmith?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Daniel, the hardback isn’t available online but it is in stores. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Bisha Zahid

Hi, do we have to buy a ticket?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Bisha – the event is not ticketed, you will simply need to join the queue to have your book signed by Sarah on a first come, first served basis. We recommend that you arrive at the event no more than an hour beforehand and no later than 4pm. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Kate

Hello, how long will the signing go on for an do you know how many people you’re going to let in? And do you know if we’re allowed a picture with Sarah??

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Kate, the signing will last approximately two hours and you will queue on a first come, first served basis. You will be able to have photos taken with Sarah. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Lily-Jo Brazill

Will we be able to get a picture with her?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Lily-Jo, yes you will be able to get a picture with her. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Pau

Are you going to sell the hardback copy of the book any time before the signing or even at all?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Pau, the hardback is available in stores. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • EM

Hi. Will staff members be able to take a picture whilst sarah is signing if i was to hand them my phone?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Em, if you ask a member of staff on the day they should be able to take a photo. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Alice Grundy

I really want to come to this, but there isn’t much point in buying another copy of Empire of Storms when I have a signed edition anyway. Is the WHSmith edition with the exclusive short story still available or was that only for pre-orders? Because that would make it worth it!

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Alice, I’m afraid the WHSmith edition is no longer available. Thanks, WHSmith Blog.

  • Rhyann Jennifer

So just to clarify, do you have to buy a new book to have it signed, or can you bring the one you already have?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Rhyann, you will need to purchase a new book from WHSmith which will be signed by Sarah J Maas and you can bring one additional book with you to be stamped. Thanks, WHS Blog.

      • Rhyann Jennifer

Okay, so 1: can you purchase a new book from any WHSmith store or does it have to be that one?
And 2: when you say one other book, can I bring any Sarah J Maas book with me or does it have to be new as well?
Sorry about all the questions, I just don’t want to get it wrong. Thanks

  • Andy Revell

Would we be allowed to come and just ask a question and get a photo with Sarah J Maas?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Andy, you must purchase a book from WHSmith in order to meet Sarah. Thanks, WHS Blog.

      • Andy Revell

Disappointing, money grubbing at its worst.

  • Liv

Me and my sister share a copy of the book purchased from Whsmith, we would like to get it signed to both of us. Can both of us meet Sarah J Maas with only the one book?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Liv, you can only have one copy of Empire of Storms signed per person. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Naina Odedra

Hi I was just wondering, I brought my book but I threw away the receipt not knowing I would need it. Could I still get it signed?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Naina, I’m afraid you must be able to prove that you purchased the book from WHSmith. Thanks, WHS Blog.

      • Keely

Can’t you prove you bought it from whs by showing the exclusive story in the back?

  • Grace Parsons

Is a ticket necessary or can anyone come as long as they have the book?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Grace, this is not a ticketed event. You can turn up as long as you have purchased the book from WHSmith. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Keely

I bought the book from whs, therefore it has the exclusive short story at the back, can I use this as proof or do I need the reciept?

    • Keely

Does anyone know if showing the exclusive short story count as proof or do you need the receipt?

  • amanda mcguire

Hey, I wonder if I can buy Empire of storms in your bookshop in Birmingham and then go to this event? Have I understood this correctly?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Amanda, yes you can purchase a copy of Empire of Storms from any of our stores as long as you have proof of purchase. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Daniel Payne

Will you be able to buy a copy of Empire of Storms from WHSmith whilst waiting in the queue for the signing?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Daniel, you will be able to purchase a copy of Empire of Storms on the day. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Emma

Does the book have to be Empire of Storms as i have a copy of that but not of any of her other books? Could i buy Throne of Glass instead?

    • WHSmithblogadmin

Hi Emma, you must have purchased Empire of Storms from WHSmith for Sarah to sign. You can then have another book of hers stamped. Thanks, WHS Blog.

  • Tora

Hi is it possible to purchase a signed copy online after the event? From the WHSMITH website?
    Thank you

  • Abby Salter

Will hardback copies of Empire of Storms be on sale for Sarah to sign? I have seen these at other bookstores across the U.K. and was wondering if you would have them in stock as I already have a paperback copy.

  • Jack Cole

If you buy another book from the throne of glass series from whsmith that is not Empire of storms can you get it signed? Also what would be the best time to arrive?

  • Karen Tomlinson

Can I just clarify. Do I need to buy the book from this particular WHS at the event or arrive with one purchased from any WHSmiths ?

  • Esther Laver

How long will Sarah J Maas be there for?

  • Dominique Fourie

Will we be able to get a photo with Sarah?

  • Chrissie

Hi, are you only allowed one other book stamped? Also what if you have the book but can’t provide proof that it is from WHSmiths??

  • Catherine Griffiths

I would really like to purchase a signed hardback copy however I live in Wales and am unable to travel up tomorrow. Would I be able to purchase and pay for delivery over the phone? Thank you
